Carson, who is a queer and transgender man, had always felt uncomfortable and uninvited in activities that tested his physical and\/or mental abilities. After a summer away at camp in Rhinebeck, New York, Carson found himself in his element at camp. Because of his experience, he became passionate about combining recreation with physical and mental wellness.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eProgress Peak has been an idea in the making for many years. In his day job, Carson is a Mental Health Clinician and is currently pursuing a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) Credential. He graduated with his M.S. in Community and Trauma Counseling, Childhood Trauma, and Play Therapy from Thomas Jefferson University in 2021. Carson, who is a queer and transgender man, had always felt uncomfortable and uninvited in activities that tested his physical and\/or mental abilities. After a summer away at camp in Rhinebeck, New York, Carson found himself in his element at camp. Because of his experience, he became passionate about combining recreation with physical and mental wellness.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nProgress Peak has been an idea in the making for many years. After his summer away, Carson wanted to combine his expertise in mental health and his passion for recreation and challenging himself. Progress Peak Adventures is the beginning of that dream. In the future, Carson hopes that Progress Peak can have a physical location for folks to convene, and possibly a traditional overnight summer camp for LGBTQ+ adults, youth, and families.
